People sometimes ask what the "wireless stash base" in our product descriptions actually is. It is one of our favorite parts of every order, so here is the full story.
A lamp base with a secret
The base is a cordless LED base — no cords running to the wall — with a removable top. Lift it, and there is a hidden storage compartment underneath. It is big enough for small keepsakes, spare keys, jewelry, or whatever you would rather not leave sitting out. Every lampshade we sell comes with one fitted, at no extra charge.
Why it works without a lamp
Because the base is cordless and self-contained, your lampshade works right out of the box — no separate lamp, no wiring, no hunting for an outlet. It also fits standard table and bedside lamps if you already have one you love.
One rule: LED bulbs only
Our shades are 3D-printed, and printed material behaves differently than fabric or plastic. LED bulbs stay cool and are perfectly safe. Incandescent and halogen bulbs run hot enough to deform printed material over time — so keep it LED. If you are using your own lamp with one of our shades, swap the bulb first.
Built to be used
The design is printed in layers into the shade itself, so it looks great lit or unlit and will not fade or peel. Ready-made designs ship within 1–3 business days in the U.S., and personalized designs move through a 24–48 hour design window once you order.
